Family, Friends and Food: The Role Social Eating Plays in Weight Loss

 

If you’re struggling to lose weight, things probably get even more complicated when you’re out with friends or at a family cookout. We eat differently when we are with other people, compared with when we eat alone.

Sometimes, other people can influence how we eat and our food choices in a variety of ways. Overeating may seem normal in certain situations, and we tend to fall in line with the norm so we don't feel awkward.
